Schools' Counselling

Bar’N'Bus currently provides a weekly counselling service to three local secondary schools:

  •  The King John School
  • The Cornelius Vermuyden School
  • The Castle View School

All our Counsellors are carefully selected and qualified. They act in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Association of Christian Counsellors. If you are interested in being a Counsellor for Bar’N'Bus please contact us.

Specifications of service

Bar’N'Bus will see any person aged 11-18 that attends one of the schools we work with and has either made a self-referral or has been referred by the school. Parents may also make requests for their child to be seen but must make this request via the school.

Counselling takes place in the privacy of a small counselling room, and the atmosphere is welcoming and informal. Where possible, clients work with the same counsellor whether they visit for just two or three sessions or for many months. Appointments are usually weekly and each session lasts for 40 minutes.

We operate a confidentiality policy, which will be explained to the client at their appointment, and no information is passed back to the source of referral without the prior consent of the client. Clients can give as much or as little information about themselves as they wish.
